Chancellor Rachel Reeves was predicted to increase Employers' National Insurance Contributions in this Wednesday's Autumn Budget.
These changes have now been confirmed in today's Budget. Employers' NIC rate rises to 15 percent and the Secondary Threshold drops by £4,100 to £5,000 from April 2025.
The Chancellor also announced an increase to the Employment Allowance (a discount on the employer's NIC bill). This now gives a £10,500 cut to the total NIC bill for the employer. At the moment the employment is only available as long as the NIC bill last year was less than £100,000 but from April 2025 this threshold will be removed so every employer can claim the allowance.
