People in resident and working in Spain are liable to pay PIT (Personal Income Tax). A progressive tax system spread over six tax bands ranging from 19% to 47%.

Tax bands are as follow:

Below 12450 EUR - 19%

Between 12450 EUR and 20200 EUR - 24%.

Between 20200 EUR and 35200 EUR - 30%.

Between 35200 EUR and 60000 EUR - 37%.

Between 60000 EUR and 300000 EUR - 45%.

Above 60000 EUR - 47%.

Personal allowance deduction allowed of 5,550 EUR - this is for individuals under 65 years of age.

Additional allowance deduction of up to 7,302 EUR allowed for employment incomes below 19,747.50 EUR and no other income over 6,500 EUR.

Social contributions are a total of 6.35%, made up of 4.7% for pension and accident plus another 1.5% for unemployment and 0.1% for training. They are deductible from gross income for tax purposes.
